I used to be that speaker! I showed ALL the benefits of actively using LinkedIn. Got the crowd ALL excited… only to see that SEVENTY PERCENT of attendees got caught up in their daily work and did not get round to implementation. 

Here is a little secret: I did not enjoy the work. I was paid good money but saw no results. That’s why I developed a new format. Three years of testing and tweaking resulted in the program I offer today. Because it works!

The LinkedIn Training for Organisations Program

This program was tried and tested for several years before it took on its current form. It provides is a proven format to get employees motivated and trained to keep your organisation consistently top of mind with the right audience.

LINKEDIN AMBASSADORS WORKSHOP - SETTING EMPLOYEE ADVOCACY IN MOTION

 We’ll look at the message Marketing wants to get out there. Why is this message important? Who do you need to reach with this message? How do you create a broader reach for your message? How does this pan out on LinkedIn?

We’ll identify a unique hashtag to always use and a list of hashtags to regularly use. We’ll also develop a list of keywords that are important for content and profiles.

In order to help employees with their profiles, we’ll create a folder where they can find suitable banner images, sample headlines, media to add to their profiles and suggestions to get them started on the About and Current Experience sections.

As ambassadors, you’ll want to lead by example. So we’ll upgrade your profiles and start sharing expertise from your organisation directly targeted at your identified audience.

To obtain maximum impact from the training the ambassadors need to represent all different divisions or functions. They need to be MOTIVATED not sent. The maximum number of participants is 10. The minimum is 6 in order to have a variety of viewpoints within the organisation.

AMBASSADORS AT WORK!

The two weeks after the LinkedIn Ambassadors Workshop are crucial. Each ambassador will post a minimum of two updates a week. They will find a post or person to strategically engage with twice a week and connect to 5 key people each week. We’ll start to create a buzz in order to get the rest of the organisation on board.

Ambassadors also identify 2-3 colleagues each. These are people who are happy to get active on LinkedIn with a bit of nudging and support.

You’ll receive a weekly video with feedback on the recent LinkedIn activity of the ambassadors.

SHOW ALL YOUR EXPERTISE ON THE LINKEDIN STAGE

The day starts with a presentation on LinkedIn for your organisation, including fabulous examples of your ambassadors’ activity. This presentation is attended by as many people as you can physically bring together in one location.

After this energetic 90-minute training session you have two choices for how to proceed:

Option 1:
9 individual 30-minute training sessions. The advantage of this format is that each person gets specific, tailored feedback, tips and suggestions. Something that happens in no other training. It takes a bit more dedication to implement, but experience has shown that 80% of participants do implement (as opposed to less than 30% with a presentation only).

Option 2:
A group workshop for 9 people. Although there is slightly less personal feedback, the implementation is guaranteed and there is still ample room for questions. This results in profiles where your people present themselves as the experts they are. Their professionalism reflecting back on your organisation.

 

THERE IS NOBODY LEFT HIDING BACKSTAGE

In order to train all employees, we’ll add additional training days to make sure nobody gets left in the dark. As there is no plenary presentation, we can train more people on these days. Again, you can opt for one of two formats.

Option 1:
12 individual 30-minute training sessions. The advantage of this format is that each person gets specific, tailored feedback, tips and suggestions. Something that happens in no other training. It takes a bit more dedication to implement, but experience has shown that 80% of participants do implement (as opposed to less than 30% with a presentation only).

RAVING REVIEWS (FOLLOW UP FEEDBACK)

When you invest in training, you want to see results. This is why the profiles will be up to date by the end of the training. That is just the start.

Key to success on LinkedIn is consistent, ongoing, engagement. New habits take time to develop. This is why each participant receives an individual feedback video on their recent activity two weeks after their training.

The feedback helps them sharpen their updates and comments. Making sure they strengthen your brand. The feedback also keeps them on their toes. Knowing an eye is kept on them, will help get over that hurdle and start acting on LinkedIn’s main stage.

 

As a bigger organisation, many employees use LinkedIn, but profiles and use of LinkedIn vary a fair bit. We contracted Petra to help streamline this, which she did by giving a presentation (full house!), and in a separate session diving into people’s individual profiles with tips & tricks. Practical, fun and oh so useful, Petra quickly created a great deal of cohesion as well as motivated people to understand the value of LinkedIn for them. I found her very responsive to our wishes and flexible with any company needs. Great aftercare as well with extra documents to send to an even wider group of employees after the training. Top tip, if you want to look after her during training at your facility, tea is definitely your best bet!
